The US FDA has cleared for sale Hologic's SecurViewDX breast imaging workstation, a dedicated, multi-modality system for displaying and interpreting any screening or diagnostic digital mammogram, and other images, such as MRI, CT, PET and ultrasound. "The ability to use our dedicated workstation to view digital mammograms from any vendor, as well as images from other modalities, should have a significant impact on improved workflow in breast imaging suites," said Jack Cumming, the Bedford, Massachusetts firm's chairman and CEO. The workstation can also support digital computer-aided detection programmes.
