The construction of a new £11m ($20.1m) so-called "one-stop" health centre has begun in Greater Nottingham, under the NHS LIFT (Local Improvement Finance Trust) programme. The Stapleford centre, due to open in early 2006, is the first of a group of five sites being developed by the Greater Nottingham LIFT company over the next 18 months and the start of a "sustained 25-year building programme".
