Brazil's healthcare surveillance agency, Anvisa, has updated the list of medical technology companies awarded a certificate for good practice in manufacturing and controls. Fundacao Fahucam, Polysuture, Johnson & Johnson Industrial, Johnson & Johnson Produtos Profissionais, Siemens, Cmos Drake Do Nordeste, Laboratorios B Braun and Dentsply are among the latest additions, having been approved last month. Some 130 certificates have been issued since December 2000. K Takaoka, Baumer, Silimed (Silicone e Instrumental Medico-Hospitalar), Fanem, Nipro Medical, Biotechnology Ortopedia Importacao/Exportacao and Ortosintese were the first companies to be awarded. The certificates are issued under a legal Resolution and apply for one year from their announcement in the Diario Oficial da Uniao.
