The leading groups of Germany's statutory health insurance funds (GKV) this week confirmed that specific medical devices used by GKV-licensed doctors will continue to be provided free-of-charge for patients. In response to a query by the medical devices industry association, BVMed, the GKV said that new supplementary payment regulations contained within the healthcare modernisation law (GMG) will not include these products.
