Another UK National Health Service region has opted to convert its cervical screening programme exclusively to Cytyc UK's liquid-based cytology (LBC) ThinPrep Pap Test. The decision affects the 14 laboratories that serve the NHS' South East (East) region, covering the Strategic Health Authorities of Surrey, Sussex, Kent and Medway, which process some 350,000 tests a year.
