The Yemen has been awarded $5.5m by the Geneva-based Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, to tackle HIV/AIDS over the next two years. A further $9.3m have been earmarked for disbursement over the following three years. Last year, the Global Fund granted the Yemen some $12m to support the national programme to fight malaria.
