Executive Summary
Marking its entry into the minimally-invasive surgical (MIS) arena, spinal implant firm Globus Medical has launched a posterior stabilisation system that enables the placement of polyaxial screws and rods through just two small stab incisions. The Pivot MIS system is specifically developed as part of the Phoenixville, Pennsylvania firm's Protex posterior stabilisation system and AccuFlex semi-rigid flexible rod technology. The product allows for guided and controlled minimally-invasive rod introduction, and eliminates the need for a third incision, said Globus.
