Executive Summary
Efforts to improve the control of malaria in Zambia have received a US$20m boost with an international development (IDA) grant from the World Bank. One of two priority areas (the other is related mainly to the distribution of preventive nets) will be to increase the number of pregnant women diagnosed and fully treated pre-term, across all 72 districts of the country. The target is to increase coverage from 45% to 55% by 2008.
