Executive Summary
The Spanish government has set up a European Projects Office, with the aim of increasing the number of healthcare R&D projects that succeed in receiving funding through the EU framework programmes (FPs). The department, which is part of the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISC) national healthcare institute, will provide practical support for research bodies applying for funding and help co-ordinate efforts nationally. In turn, plans are being considered to establish a network of regional offices.
