Executive Summary
Austria has transposed and introduced a new standard for blood bag safety. The ONORM EN ISO 3826 part 1 is a European and international standard, which specifies requirements for plastic, collapsible, non-vented, sterile containers, complete with collecting tube outlet port(s), integral needles and optional transfer tube(s). The plastics containers may contain anticoagulant and/or preservative solutions, depending on the application for which they are intended.
