Press-fit ceramic toe endoprostheses manufactured by Moje Ceramic Implants (Petersberg, Germany) have been hit by fracture problems. At least 12 cases of fracturing, occurring some 9-15 months after implantation, have been reported, including seven in the UK, according to a Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) notice.
