Executive Summary
The UK's National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) has published revised guidelines on its appraisals process. The new guidelines, which replace three documents published in 2001 and 2002, feature the process by which organisations can register as stakeholders, the stages of guideline development, and how to contribute to it. They are available from www.nice.org.uk/cat.asp?c=22334. NICE has also published a support document on the technical aspects of the review, for use primarily by organisations involved in developing guidelines for NICE, such as the National Collaborating Centres.
