Executive Summary
St Jude Medical's path to acquiring Advanced Neuromodulation Systems (ANS) is now clear after the deal received final foreign antitrust clearance on Friday (November 11). The German Federal Cartel Office gave the St Paul, Minnesota company the go-ahead just a week after the US Federal Trade Commission approved the proposed $1.3bn acquisition (see Clinica No 1181, p 16).
