Canada's leading neuroimaging department to expand:

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

Canada's leading neuroimaging department at the Toronto Western Hospital (one of three hospitals belonging to the University Health Network) is seeking funding and extra space to establish an imaging research centre. It is looking to purchase a 7T MRI, a Magnetoencephalography system and a Neuro PET scanner. The department says it actively embraces medtech advancements because of how this translates into improved access for patients. It lays claim to several medtech firsts both internationally and nationally. It has Canada's first 64-slice CT scanner and houses the world's only integrated 3T MRI unit, biplane angiographic suite and operating room. It also has Ontario's only Gamma Knife and is the first hospital in Ontario to provide 24-hour MRI access.
