Scotland is to invest £65m ($117m) to improve local NHS healthcare facilities. The money will be used to refurbish existing medical centres, such as in the city of Glasgow, and build new facilities, notably in remote rural locations. In the mould of the network of diagnosis and treatment centres (DTCs) being set up in England, they will be equipped to provide diagnostic testing, general treatment, minor surgery and midwifery, among other services.
