Jeffrey Smith has been named as CEO of Palco Labs (Santa Cruz, California), a manufacturer of lancing, assistive and sensing medical devices. He succeeds Paul Levin, the company's founder, who will remain on the board of directors. Mr Smith was formerly COO of laser manufacturer Directed Light. The company is currently developing new products and seeking new market opportunities, said Dr Levin.
