£4.5m and needs assessment for Scottish sexual health:

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

Scottish health minister Andy Kerr has allocated £4.5m ($8.2m) in 2005-06 to support the modernisation of sexual health services. The funding is part of a £15m, three-year strategy announced last January. The remainder will be disbursed towards the end of this year, subject to an analysis of service delivery needs. This analysis will be spearheaded by the National Sexual Health Advisory Committee, whose membership was announced this week. Its remit includes reviewing service needs in rural communities, and supporting and monitoring delivery of the programme. It will hold its first meeting on June 28.
