Australia has pledged Aus$812m (US$626m) to target mainly sexual health, HIV/AIDS, STDs and blood-borne diseases, and screening for breast and cervical cancer. The funds are provided from the renewed five-year public health outcome funding agreements (PHOFAs) covering 2004-2009. Over the five years, in total the assistance will exceed Aus$1.2bn.
