Bausch & Lomb has reported 69 explants of its Hydroview H60M intraocular lens in the UK in the last 12 months - bringing the total to 304 - due to calcification problems associated with its former silicone packaging system. The current total is equivalent to 0.34% of the 88,527 units supplied with that type of packaging between December 1997 and May 2001.
