Hi-tech scanning to diagnose osteoporosis has received a £20m ($38m) boost in the UK to meet equipment shortfalls. So said the government yesterday of a pledge to spend £3m this year and a further £17m over the next three, primarily to increase access to dual energy X-ray absorptiometer (DXA) scanners, used to measure bone density.
