Executive Summary
Colin Andrews has been appointed deputy director of the British In Vitro Diagnostics Association (BIVDA), with effect from April 5. Mr Andrews joins from UK instrumentation, control, automation and laboratory technology industry association GAMBICA, where he was deputy director, focusing on its laboratory technology and international activities, often in close co-operation with BIVDA. During his term at GAMBICA, he left to run the British Laboratory Ware Association (BLWA), but rejoined when GAMBICA's laboratory equipment group amalgamated with the BLWA. His appointment is expected to "hugely increase BIVDA's capacity to manage the variety of functions which the Association has increasingly been involved with".
