Executive Summary
The UK's National Audit Office has launched an open consultation into the effectiveness of NHS and DoH policy on stroke care in England. The NAO will consider whether resources are effectively being used in providing preventive services, acute care and rehabilitation. The study is being conducted in collaboration with the Stroke Association, the Royal College of Physicians and the Healthcare Commission (CHAI). The NAO aims to report its findings to parliament at the end of 2005. The deadline for submissions (see www.nao.org.uk/stroke) is April 22.
