Executive Summary
UK pressure group Men's Health Forum is calling on the government to ensure that the forthcoming delivery plan for the Public Health White Paper, currently being drafted, represents the key interests of male healthcare. It cites cancer, cardiovascular disease and mental health as the leading causes of a lower average male life expectancy than women. The MHF has also submitted written evidence to the House of Commons Health Committee, criticising the White Paper as "fundamentally flawed" because of its failure to include a strategic response to gender health inequalities. Last week, the MHF highlighted the importance of differentiating how men's sexual health awareness campaigns are targeted (see Clinica No 1144, p 8).
