According to a poll of all 259 German sickness insurance funds by the news magazine Focus, many are planning cut to their contribution rates on July 1. Of the 62 funds that operate in all 16 federal states, 55 said that they would cut contributions by at least 0.9 percentage points. The other seven have not yet made firm plans. Several of the funds have indicated that they wish to cut contributions more drastically, by 1 percentage point, from 12.9% to 11.9%.
