Around 6-9% of the population aged 20 years and over in Central America's main cities are diabetic, and between a third and a half of cases detected had not been previously diagnosed. These are among the preliminary results of the Central American Diabetes Initiative (CAMDI), released today by the Pan-American Health Organization (OPS/PAHO), to mark World Diabetes Day.
