Pakistan steps up dengue Dx provision

Executive Summary

Improvement of diagnostic facilities and "prompt and efficient medical services" are to become a focus of Pakistan's strategy to address the spread of dengue haemorrhagic fever. Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, who made the announcement at a meeting at his residence last week, also said that the situation is being "closely monitored", with curative and preventive measures being taken by the federal, provincial and city governments working "in close co-ordination".
