Tug-of-war over whether European Parliament should be centred in Brussels:

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

There is a battle waging in Strasbourg over whether the European Parliament should retain part of its seat in the French city or move to join the rest of the European Parliament in Brussels. MEPs are trying to buy all the parliament buildings in the French city in an attempt to put a stop to the accusations that the Parliament is paying a disproportionately high amount on rent in Strasbourg. But those in favour of having the Parliament seated entirely in Brussels argue that the European Parliament should "not pay a penny" for the buildings, until a decision about the move to Brussels is made.
