Executive Summary
China has announced that companies must withdraw, before December 31 2006, devices and IVD reagents containing materials from bovine or ovine sources that have direct or indirect contact with the human body. The move is to prevent the spread of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE). The registration certificate of products from countries where BSE is newly found will automatically become invalid and the product cannot be marketed in China. This announcement replaces the one issued on March 22 2002.
