Executive Summary
Second-generation endometrial ablation following a short trial of oral contraceptive (OC) is the most cost-effective treatment for dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB), a study has found. Best practice guidelines agree that DUB therapy should begin with the least invasive option - OC - note the study researchers, whose findings appear in the Journal of Reproductive Medicine (July). However, OCs produce regular menstruation in only about 47% of women.
