Boston Scientific (Natick, Massachusetts) has elected Guidant directors Kristina Johnson and Nancy-Ann DeParle to its now 14-member board. Ms Johnson, Dean of the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University, was a co-founder of the Colorado Advanced Technology Institute Center of Excellence in Optoelectronics, and serves on other boards. Ms DeParle, senior advisor for JP Morgan Partners and adjunct professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, previously served as the administrator of the US CMS (then HCFA). Guidant was acquired by Boston last week.
