Executive Summary
dj Orthopedics, the San Diego, California-based developer of orthopaedic rehabilitation and regeneration products, has completed its $290m acquisition of Aircast. The companies agreed to the transaction in March. Summit, New Jersey-based Aircast's range of orthopaedic products is expected to add leverage to that of its acquirer, while its VenaFlow vascular system for preventing post-surgical deep vein thrombosis will provide dj Orthopedics with a new market opportunity. The integration of the two companies' operations is forecast to generate cost savings of $15-20m from 2007 onwards.
