The UK's Health Protection Agency (HPA) is calling for better access to HIV diagnostic testing services, in light of data published today showing that the incidence of infection is at its highest among injecting drug users (IDUs) for over a decade. The HPA's IDU expert, Dr Fortune Ncube, said that it was imperative too that there is sufficient access to needles and syringes, as well as improving advice on safe disposal of used devices.
