Blood pressure (BP) monitoring specialist Medwave fought back last week after a study declared its noninvasive Vasotrac monitor was unsuitable for use in the observation of arterial BP during liver transplant. The study, published in Anaesthesia and Analgesia (March 2006), compared the Vasotrac blood measuring system with invasive monitoring using an arterial catheter, or "A-line".
