Executive Summary
VSM MedTech, the Vancouver, Canada-based developer of non-invasive magnetoencephalography (MEG) functional brain imaging systems, is to receive Can$350,000 ($304, 862) grant from the Canadian government. The funding, which will be provided on a cost-incurred basis during 2006, will go towards the Can$1.5m electronics redesign initiative that the company has undertaken to improve its CTF MEG systems. The redesign will enable VSM to produce the systems more cheaply without compromising on the product's performance, said the company. It added that the reduced manufacturing costs would improve gross margins and increase the firm's likelihood of breaking even in 2007.
