Vascular device manufacturer LeMaitre Vascular will sell its products in Italy through its own Rome-based sales force from January 2008 as part of its strategy to establish a worldwide direct sales operation. The Burlington, Massachusetts-based company will terminate its partnership with Serom Medical Technologies, which currently has exclusive Italian distribution rights to the products, on January 25. Serom will provide a range of consulting services to facilitate the transition. The move will incur a charge of $1.1m, which LeMaitre will record in Q3 2007. The firm has direct sales operations in the UK, Japan, the Benelex region, Austria, Sweden and France.
