Executive Summary
Orthopaedic device maker Biomet has launched a litigation case against Zimmer US and David Montgomery, a former executive who joined the latter after his resignation in January this year. Biomet alleges that the two parties were attempting to create an unfair market advantage by misappropriating confidential information and interfering in contractual relations with almost all of its distributors. The Warsaw, Indiana-based firm also claimed that Zimmer conspired with Mr Montgomery to attempt to buy the assets of the distributors.
