Executive Summary

UK diagnostics manufacturer Unipath has confirmed that the number of faulty pregnancy tests that triggered a Europe-wide recall of a single lot of 83,000 kits is 44. The affected lot (HG0050) of the Clearview HCG (human chorionic gonadotrophin) tests were supplied across Europe (only to healthcare professionals for their use), during March-April 2007.
