Europe urges convention against counterfeit goods

On April 20, parliamentarians from the 46 member states of the Council of Europe unanimously backed a call for a European convention against counterfeit medicines which is expected to also cover medical devices and other healthcare products. The vote at the spring session of the CoE Parliamentary Assembly was designed to lend political support to ongoing efforts by CoE officials as they seek to broker pan-European consensus on the project.
