Executive Summary

Roche Diagnostics has CE marked its Elecsys anti-hepatitis-C virus assay for sale in Europe. It may now be used with the E 170 analyser for modular analytics and the e 601 module for the cobas 6000 platform. The assay is already available on the Elecsys 2010 and cobas e 411 instruments. The Swiss company's Elecsys product line, based on electrochemiluminescence technology, has other assays covering cardiac, bone and tumour markers, among others.
