Sports medicine specialist Tornier and Kinetic Concepts, Inc (KCI) subsidiary LifeCell have begun a trial of Conexa, a reconstructive tissue matrix for the surgical repair of large rotator cuff tears. The rotator cuff is a group of four shoulder muscles and their tendons; tears to the muscles are often sustained by sportspeople such as tennis players, baseball pitchers and fast bowlers in cricket.
