Executive Summary
German surgical navigation technology company BrainLAB will see its Digital Lightbox technology distributed to European hospitals after signing a non-exclusive agreement with Olympus Medical Systems. A spokesperson for BrainLab told Clinica that Olympus will be targeting all medical fields – except for the neurosurgery, orthopaedics, craniomaxillofacial and radiosurgery markets – across Europe, including Russia and Israel. According to Munich-based BrainLAB, the Digital Lightbox is designed to improve operating room efficiency by providing physicians with the ability to access and manipulate radiological information such as MRI, CT, X-ray and PET data, as well as all types of endoscopic images and videos. The device can be integrated into a hospital's picture archive and communications systems and can be installed anywhere in the hospital, including surgeons' offices, meeting rooms and operating rooms.
