Orteq signs French deal for synthetic scaffold

UK orthopaedic firm Orteq Bioengineering has signed a distribution deal with FH Orthopaedics, in a bid to increase sales of its Actifit synthetic scaffold for meniscal injury in France. The deal will allow FH (Heimsbrunn, France) to increase the coverage of Actifit, which, a spokesperson told Clinica, was only sold by Orteq in the country at a “low level” previously. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. According to London-based Orteq, Actifit provides a structure for growth of new tissue, in places were damaged meniscal tissue has been surgically removed.
