Executive Summary
An agreement between Peru's state-run Cayetano Heredia hospital, in Lima, and the company Empresa de Diagn�stico Integral del Perú has provided for the installation of the first magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) unit in the Lima Norte area of the capital. The joint purchasing of the state-of-the-art GE Healthcare system, is an example of the type of public/public partnerships that the government is set to embrace in support of its healthcare modernisation plans, which include a planned P$6bn (US$2bn) hospital-building programme.
