Executive Summary
Argentina has launched a national family healthcare programme (PNSF), as part of a "strategy to reform and strengthen primary care". The implications of the programme in terms of provision of medical technology are not clear, but one of the aims of the programme is to progressively channel and better co-ordinate the resourcing of the primary care sector, according to a ministry statement. The PNSF will seek to cover a population of 1.5 million, through a network of new primary care units involving a total of 2,000 specifically-trained healthcare professionals.
