Executive Summary

Compliance with new requirements for medical devices in the context of the soon-to-be recast European Commission Directive on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) is going to result in higher costs for some medical device manufacturers who produce complex products in low numbers which have critical applications. That is the view of the Commission in an update just posted on its Europa website.
