Microvisk appoints new board chairman

Executive Summary

Microvisk Technologies, a developer of rapid, point-of-care and home tests for blood coagulation disorders in patients taking warfarin, has appointed Ed Brennan as chairman of the board. Dr Brennan was most recently chairman (and an original investor) of HemoSense (bought by Massachusetts-based Inverness Medical Innovations in 2007), which developed and commercialised a product for monitoring warfarin therapy. Dr Brennan is a past president and CEO of San Diego-based CryoCor (products to treat cardiac rhythm disorders – bought by Boston Scientific in May 2008).
