Cancer detection specialist CytoCore is to gain access to a software that will enhance the flow of slide imaging data and communications between doctors, medical labs, healthcare facilities and healthcare payors. The OmniDROP, developed by Temecula, California-based Zycom Touch, is said to be the first bi-directional, peer-to-peer "drop box" communications software utility for Windows and Apple systems. The agreement, which is in currently in principle, allows CytoCore (Chicago, Illinois) exclusive rights to offer OmniDROP with its AIPS automated imaging proteomic systems – designed for high-volume, computer-controlled slide screening -- in the US. The company will also have non-exclusive distribution rights for international markets.
