UK and EU nanotech policy "based on ignorance and uncertainty"

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

The UK's Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution (RCEP) has slammed national policy on nanotechnology as being founded on "profound ignorance and uncertainty". In the report "Novel materials in the environment: the case for nanotechnology", the RCEP highlights the “inappropriateness” of EU-wide regulation in this area, and calls for a radical rethink of this and of the research needed to back it up, as a matter of urgency.
