Cyrano Sciences' electronic olfaction technology simulates the nose's ability to sense chemicals present in vapors. The technology has a variety of industrial and medical applications such as point of care diagnostics. The company's "nose chips"--microarrays of sensors, could be built into diagnostic devices that can non-invasively detect conditions like bacterial infections of the ear.
