Executive Summary
State-based advocacy: Heather Erickson, president of MedTech in upstate New York, and Joseph Panetta, president and CEO of BIOCOM in Southern California, are the new co-chairs of the State Medical Technology Alliance, AdvaMed announced July 26. The alliance was formed in 2007 as a formal link between AdvaMed and state and regional medical device groups. Don Gerhardt, who heads Minnesota's LifeScience Alley, and Matt Gardner, former president of BayBio, previously co-chaired the alliance. Separately, on July 22, AdvaMed tapped Carrie Hartgen as its VP of state government relations and regional affairs.
